NSF Research Training (NRT) PhD Program on Data Driven Biology

We are pleased to announce the launch of the newly awarded NRT program for PhD training in Data Driven Biology (DDB). DDB is led by Professors Pruitt, Petzold, Manjunath and Clegg and aims to bring together experimental and modeling methods for extracting knowledge from data-dense quantitative biology experiments. DDB aims to integrate machine learning, data science, and quantitative image and bioinformatic analysis with trainees’ PhD research projects. DDB provides one year of fellowship support and 5 years of program support to DDB Fellows in Biological Engineering and partnering departments: Biomolecular Science & Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical & Computer Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology; and Physics. 

Application deadline: January 15, 2022

Eligibility: Matriculating PhD student in one of the affiliated degree programs and US citizen or green card holder.
